In 1991, St. John the Divine began a community Thanksgiving Day Dinner. The free dinner, compelte with all the trimings was for anyone in the community. While it was started to meet the needs of those who depend on meals on wheels or Love Inc for their meals, neither of who are able to provide a hot meal on Thanksgving, it was also meant for anyone including those who might be alone or wanting to eat with others in a family setting. We don't ask about need rather we ask how many meals. We serve the meal in our hall or we will deliver meals within a 15 mile radius. There are many opportunities for volunteering. Call the church office earlyl in November to sign-up to volunteer and/or for meals (either eating at church or having them delivered). 262-763-7482 ext. 21.
This year the kindergarten children of Cooper Elementary School made placemats for our guests. They were a huge hit with some people taking them home with them. In fact, one person planned to hang it on the wall.
