Welcome to our Worship Ministries

Thurifer on Christmas Eve

There are many opportunities to serve as a Worship Minister at both services.  Training is provided.  If you are interested in any of these ministries, speak with Deacon Nancy or call the church office at 763-7482. 

Greeter/Usher: 
Welcomes people to worship, assist with any questions.

Reader: 
Reads the appointed lessons for the Sunday 

Leader of Prayers: 
Leads the congregation in prayers of the people

Chalice Bearer:  
Assists with distribution of communion by serving the consecrated wine (the blood of Christ) to the congregation 

Acolyte: 
Assists the server, often carrying the cross in procession

Server: 
Assists the deacon in preparing the table for communion, often carries the Gospel book in procession

Thurifer:
For special services such as Easter Vigil and Christmas Eve, we use incense.  The thurifer is the one who offers the incense by swinging it so that the incense's sweet smell and smoke is made visible.
