PASTORAL CARE
"For I was sick and you took care of me." Matthew 25:36.
Visiting the sick, hospitalized and home-bound
The purpose of this ministry is to bring St. John the Divine to those unable to get to church. These visits may include bringing communion to them at home or in a hospital, nursing home or assisted living residence. Anointing for healing is also offered. Communion in this setting is given by our Lay Eucharistic Ministers who are trained and then licensed by the Bishop.

Companioning those who are grieving
In support of parish members who are grieving over the loss of a family member, we give small published books, Looking Up While Lying Down and/or When Death Has Touched Your Life. In addition, a series of four books addressing grief throughout the first year after death, is given to persons experiencing such a loss. The pastoral care team also has prepared a booklet of prayers, canticles, and psalms found in Episcopal resource books. This booklet is given to persons in need of spiritual support. It is also available to anyone who desires. Check on the table in the entrance hall between the sanctuary and Healy Hall.
